The Wire’s Santoshi Markam explains the story of a tribal woman who was recently arrested by the police as a Naxalite in the village of Tadawali in Kanker district of Chhattisgarh with her husband and two-year-old daughter.

Recently, chief minister Bhupesh Baghel directed the release all tribals who were falsely accused of being Naxals in Chhattisgarh and the process to release around 4,000 tribals was initiated.

While the state is preparing to release tribals who were falsely accused as Naxals, the state police are still arresting people for fake Naxal cases.
