London: In a powerful display of solidarity, members of the Women from North East Support Network and concerned individuals gathered in London for a silent protest against the heinous events in Manipur, including reported cases of sexual violence. A rape survivor’s cousin also joined the protest and demanded strict punishment against the perpetrators.

Under the shadow of the Indian High Commission, protesters marched to Parliament Square, where they stood in silence beneath the statue of Mahatma Gandhi, a symbol of non-violence and social justice. The silent march was a poignant reminder of the pain and anguish faced by the victims, symbolising the unspoken trauma endured by countless others in Manipur.

The protest aimed to draw attention to the “naked parade” of women in Manipur. The demonstrators demanded that the perpetrators of these heinous acts face strict punishment for their crimes and that the Indian authorities take immediate action to prevent such violations from recurring.
