Delhi Finance Minister Manish Sisodia presented a Rs 69,000 crore Budget for 2021-22 fiscal. This is the seventh budget to be presented by Sisodia.
In conversation with Mitali Mukherjee, he said he was confident the state government could garner Rs 30,000 crore in GST for the financial year. The minister – who is also Deputy Chief Minister and handles education – also ruled out the possibility of a cut in state government VAT on petrol or diesel (central excise duties account for 37% of the retail price for petrol in Delhi while state government VAT accounts for 23%).
