New Delhi: A collision between a sleeper bus and a milk tanker in Uttar Pradesh on Wednesday (July 10) morning resulted in the deaths of at least 18 people, while around 19 people sustained injuries.
The incident took place on the Lucknow-Agra expressway in Uttar Pradesh’s Unnao, reported Hindustan Times.
Among the injured persons three were reported to be critical.
The bus, which was travelling from Bihar to Delhi ended up colliding with the tanker while attempting to overtake.
The bus overturned due to the impact of the collision.
Officials said that the bus was carrying mostly migrant workers.
The collision took place in the morning near Jojikot village in the Bangarmau area when the double-decker bus collided with the tanker, killing 18 people and injuring 19, Bangarmau Circle Officer Arvind Kumar said, reported the Press Trust of India.
Officials said that necessary action is being taken and the injured persons have been rushed to nearby hospitals.
