On the evening of October 27, traffic to The Wire had been on a particularly steep climb. At 1957 IST, a technical snag erupted with one of our servers, resulting in our systems not being able to serve more than a handful of readers at a time. The issues behind the snag were resolved in 36 hours, at 0133 IST on October 29. We are working on developing solutions to ensure such a disruption does not happen again.
