Legendary Rock Bands The Beatles, Rolling Stones Win Big in Grammy Awards

New Delhi: Legendary rock bands The Beatles and The Rolling Stones won big at the Grammy Awards held in Los Angeles.

The Beatles were awarded the Best Rock Performance for “Now and Then,” termed as their “final song.”

The track was crafted from a demo by the late John Lennon, more than 44 years after the latter’s death and released in November 2023. Machine learning was used to recognise John Lennon’s voice, and then isolate it from other sounds – a piano, a television in the background, electrical hum – to make it usable in a new recording.

At present, Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr are the last two surviving members of The Beatles. Lennon was shot dead in 1980, while George Harrison passed away in 2001 after suffering from cancer.

The Rolling Stones, another legendary rock band from the era of The Beatles, won the Best Rock Album for their 2023 release, “Hackney Diamonds.”

The fact that the two bands bagged the top awards show that despite many decades have passed since their heydays, they still remain relevant and have immense influence over the musical scene.
