New Delhi: A major fire reportedly broke out in Mumbai’s Dharavi in the early hours of Wednesday (February 22). No injuries have been reported so far, but the damage to properties appears to be serious.
The fire is in the Kamala Nagar and Shahu Nagar localities, near the Dharavi fire station, and began around 4:15 am, PTI reported. This part of Dharavi is largely populated by godowns and recycling units. While labourers live inside these godowns, there have been no reports of injuries or deaths.
“At least 12 fire engines, eight water tankers and other fire brigade vehicles are engaged in the firefighting operation that is currently underway,” a civid official told the agency. Fire engines are still at the stop.
