Watch | A Relief Group Fought Communalism, Delivered 1 Million Rotis to Shramik Train Passengers

Volunteers from Mercy Mission, a group of 20+ NGOs, along with the Indian Railways are working relentlessly on the ground

In Karnataka’s Bengaluru, migrant labourers are still stranded as they face difficulties reaching home.

While Shramik Special trains started on May 3, lack of clarity about the way the trains operate has created a chaotic situation.

Volunteers from Mercy Mission, a group of 20+ NGOs, along with the Indian Railways are working relentlessly on the ground by unravelling the logistics and providing food to the labourers travelling in the Shramik Special trains.

Mercy Mission has cooked more than 1 million rotis for more than 1 lakh labourers. While the good work continues, the volunteers engaged with relief work had to double their efforts due to the initial communalisation of the spread of the virus.
