Mulayam Singh Yadav Passes Away at Hospital in Gurugram

The Samajwadi Party founder had been in the hospital since August 22 and was moved into the ICU on October 2.

New Delhi: Samajwadi Party founder and veteran politician Mulayam Singh Yadav died on Monday in Medanta hospital in Gurugram, where he was undergoing treatment.

Mere adarniya pitaji aur sabke netaji nahi rahe (My beloved father and everyone’s leader is no more) – Akhilesh Yadav,” the SP tweeted from its Twitter handle.

The three-time Uttar Pradesh chief minister was known as ‘Netaji’ among supporters and members of the SP.

Mulayam, 82, was admitted in the hospital since August 22 and was shifted in ICU on October 2.

In health bulletin released yesterday (October 9), the hospital noted that Yadav’s condition was “quite critical” and that he has been on life saving drugs since he was admitted to the ICU.
