Haryana Congress Spokesperson Vikas Chaudhary Shot Dead in Faridabad

According to eyewitnesses, the Congress leader was attacked after he came out of a gym in Sector 9 in Faridabad on Thursday morning.

New Delhi: Haryana Congress leader Vikas Chaudhary was shot dead by unknown assailants in Faridabad on Thursday morning. Chaudhary, the spokesperson for the party, was shot at while travelling in his car.

According to eyewitnesses, the Congress leader was attacked after he came out of a gym in Sector 9 in Faridabad. Police confirmed to NDTV that four men in a Maruti Suzuki SX4 car fired at Chaudhary. The vehicle he was travelling in had at least four bullet markings.

Thirty-eight-year-old Chaudhary succumbed to his injuries while being treated at a local hospital. According to Indian Express, hospital authorities confirmed that assailants shot at least ten bullets at him. His body has now been sent for a post-mortem.

Indian Express quoted one Dr Saurabh as saying: “He was brought to the hospital in the morning. We tried our best to save him… but there were multiple bullet injuries.”

Hitting out at the state BJP government, Haryana Congress president Ashok Tanwar was quoted by NDTV as saying: It’s ‘jungle raj‘, there is no fear of law. The same kind of incident happened yesterday, where a woman who opposed molestation was stabbed. There should be an investigation.”
