Parliament Winter Session Wrap: A 90-Year-Old Aircraft Act Replaced, Several Key Bills Tabled

Several key bills were taken up for discussion during the session including the Waqf (Amendment) Bill, 2024, the Railways (Amendment) Bill, 2024, the Union Territories Laws (Amendment) Bill, 2024, and the Constitution (125th Amendment) Bill, 2019.

The winter session of parliament was held from November 25 to December 20. Five bills were introduced during the session and two were passed. 33 bills remain pending for passage at the end of the session. The Bharatiya Vayuyan Vidheyak, 2024, was passed on December 6 to replace the 90-year-old Aircraft Act, 1934.
