New Delhi: The Supreme Court has announced its vacation benches for the summer. For first time, this includes one headed by Chief Justice of India Ranjan Gogoi.
The bench headed by the CJI and comprising Justice M.R. Shah will be sitting between May 25 and May 30 – which means it will hear any cases pertaining to government formation after the 2019 Lok Sabha election results are announced on May 23, LiveLaw reported.
The Supreme Court is closed for its annual summer vacation between May 13 and June 30. For the rest of the vacation, the Supreme Court’s notification has announced benches comprising Justices Indira Banerjee, Sanjiv Khanna, Arun Mishra, M.R. Shah, L. Nageswara Rao, Indu Malhotra and Ajay Rastogi, in different combinations.
