New Delhi: A Chandigarh court on Tuesday refused to grant bail to Haryana Bharatiya Janata Party chief Subhash Barala’s son Vikas Barala and his friend Ashish Kumar who were arrested for stalking and attempted abduction of DJ Varnika Kundu.

The court had yesterday sought Chandigarh Police’s reply on the bail application filed by both Vikas and Ashish. The Chandigarh Police today submitted its reply in the court and said both should not be granted bail, reported the Indian Express.

The district court, headed by additional chief judicial magistrate Barjinder Pal Singh, dismissed his bail plea on Tuesday afternoon.

29 year-old Kundu, daughter of Haryana additional chief secretary V.S. Kundu, had complained to the police that the two accused, who were drunk, had stalked and intimidated her and tried to abduct her on August 4-5 night.

The accused were arrested on August 9 and  later sent to judicial custody. The duo shall continue to remain in jail and will have to file the bail application in the higher court.
