Sopore’s mandi is the second-largest fruit market in Asia, after Azadpur in Delhi. Its annual turnover is Rs 2,600 crore.

These days, it is lying empty. The total lockdown and communication ban in Jammu and Kashmir is crippling its economy. The lockdown has severely affected the fruit trade in the region.
